The Textile and Design programme has designed a capsule collection of travel accessories to be sold under the brand; Palm Project. Central to the brand’s identity is fair trade and responsible sourcing of materials. Volunteers work as a team to help develop new ranges and add/update existing ones.
HELP BUILD THE RANGE
Each week the women are taught to make new products with the view that by the end of the training sessions they will be competent enough to make the products without guidance in their own homes and are given the materials to do so. At the training session the following week, the women are expected to return with the completed products. Volunteers will review the quality and help build on the women’s skills.
WORK WITH LOCAL WOMEN
The Textile and Design programme has recently partnered with RMF and has set up a workshop at Project Hope head office in Telwatta. Travelteer works together with Project Hope by providing training for local women to make textile products.
We aim to sell the brand through our online shop via Etsy. We also have small boutique shops in the UK that sell our collection. All the profit made is donated back to the supported charities.
