Volunteers occasionally have the opportunity to help look after two rescued elephants. They live in a local sanctuary and you can help with the feeding and washing. They eat a lot!
The animal hospital is home to many types of wildlife that are being cared for whilst they recover at the centre. The hospital is situated in a research centre in the Hiyare rainforest and is operated by a wildlife
society that is partnered with the government. We support their work by donating both funds and volunteers to assist with the running of the hospital.
The coral reefs of Sri Lanka are under threat
from various causes such as dynamite fishing
and coral bleaching. We aim to regenerate areas of coral reef that are under the protection of national parks. By growing coral fragments on metal frames we aim to replant them in the future.
