Sri Lanka - People & Planet Volunteer Project
The University of Surrey has teamed up with Travelteer to create a bespoke volunteering trip to Sri Lanka. This trip will give students the opportunity to gain insight into a developing country’s healthcare system, help tackle environmental issues and get involved in community English teaching.
- Projects include:
- Local Hospitals & Ayurvedic Treatment
- Sambodhiya Disabled Centre
- Marine & Wildlife Conservation
- English Development in Pre-schools
- Community projects supporting single mothers
Trip dates:
After last years successful trip, we will be running 2 trips of 30 students for summer 2025!
2) 6 July - 3rd August 2025
1) 8 June - 6 July 2025
The Trip Includes:
- Accommodation on the South Coast of Sri Lanka
- Food (3 meals per day, Mon - Fri)
- All project Transport
- 24/7 in-country support
- Full pre-departure support
- Return airport transfer (Sri Lanka)
Cost Breakdown:
- Registration Fee: £175
- Trip Cost: £946
- Fundraising: £300 + Flights

- Cost of Living Grant with Widening Participation uplift: £609 and Widening Participation Travel Grant: Sri Lanka £905
