Pearl of the Ocean

A traveller’s tropical paradise: Sri Lanka is known as the jewel of the Indian ocean and its easy to see why! Situated just above the equator, this tropical island is blessed with dramatic beauty from white sand beaches through to lush rolling tea plantations and wild savannah.

Everything comes big on this island, being home to both the largest sea and land mammals in the world – with the highest density of Asian Elephants found anywhere on earth as well as being a migratory route for both Blue and Humpback whales.

Pigeon Island

One of the stops on the Sri Lanka tour lies along the palm fringed beaches of Sri Lanka’s East Coast. Pigeon Island is a protected marine park and home to the best coral reefs in all of Sri Lanka. Students will be taken across to the reef via speedboat and have the opportunity to snorkel with sea turtles and countless varieties of tropical marine life including the occasional juvenile black tip reef shark.

Udawalwe Jeep Safari

This has to be one of our favourites! As part of the Coast 2 Coast Tour, students will experience a private Jeep safari through Sri Lanka’s Udawalawe National Park – a stronghold for wild Asian elephants, buffalo and crocodile. The biodiversity within the park is renowned and offers the chance to see some of the endangered species up close!
