Overview
Wildlife rescue
Our volunteer programme in Vietnam focuses on wildlife rescue and sustainable development in the mountainous region of Sa Pa. This unique opportunity allows volunteers to live and work alongside local communities, supporting both wildlife protection and eco-farming initiatives in rural areas. Through hands-on volunteering and fundraising, participants make a real impact—helping to rehabilitate injured wildlife, improve agricultural practices, and support community-based projects that promote long-term sustainability. These efforts are already making a difference, from enhancing food security to protecting native species—and this is just the beginning!
Project
Animal rescue centre
Overview
Our wildlife conservation project takes place at an animal rescue centre in Sa Pa, where volunteers support the care and rehabilitation of animals rescued from the illegal wildlife trade. Tasks may include preparing food, cleaning enclosures, assisting with basic care, and helping maintain the surrounding environment. Working closely with local conservation staff, volunteers play a vital role in giving these animals a second chance.
Strategy
1
Identify Conservation efforts needing assistance.
Several key conservation efforts in Sa Pa still need support. Wildlife rescue centres face limited resources for animal care and rehabilitation, while outreach and education on the illegal wildlife trade remain underfunded. There's also a growing need for help with habitat restoration and sustainable land use. Volunteer support and funding are vital to expanding these efforts and protecting native species.
2
Invest in Equipment, Infrastructure & Local Staff.
Investing in equipment, infrastructure, and local staff strengthens conservation efforts by improving care and capacity.
3
Collaborate with Local Experts & Communities
Collaboration with local experts and communities is at the heart of our work. Their knowledge, experience, and connection to the land are essential for creating effective, culturally respectful, and lasting conservation solutions. By working together, we ensure our efforts are grounded, inclusive, and truly sustainable.
4
Maintain & Develop projects with volunteer support.
Volunteer support is key to maintaining and expanding our projects. Through their time, skills, and fundraising efforts, volunteers help sustain daily operations and drive new initiatives forward. Their involvement ensures our programmes continue to grow, adapt, and create lasting impact for both communities and the environment.
5
Monitor & Review
Monitoring and review ensure our projects stay effective and impactful. By tracking progress and adapting when needed, we use resources wisely and continuously improve our efforts.
Project
Eco Farming
Overview
As part of our eco-farming project in Sa Pa, volunteers work alongside local families on traditional farming tasks such as planting, harvesting, composting, and ploughing the land. You'll also help care for livestock like pigs and chickens, which are essential to the community’s self-sufficiency. It’s a hands-on, rewarding experience that offers a real insight into rural life and sustainable agriculture in northern Vietnam.
