Relax & Meet the Travelteer Team

All volunteers will be staying together in the same hostel, providing the perfect opportunity to unwind and connect with fellow travellers before the tour begins! In the evening, the Travelteer team will lead an induction and provide a detailed tour briefing, ensuring everyone is well-prepared and eager for the adventure ahead. Afterward, we’ll share a group dinner, offering a chance to sample delicious Moroccan cuisine. To wrap up the evening, you’ll have the option to explore the vibrant Jemaa el-Fnaa square and wander through the colourful souks of Marrakesh.

Discovering the Palaces and waterpark 

On the second day of the expedition, you’ll embark on a guided city tour of Marrakesh, delving into the historic palaces of the old medina. You’ll also revisit the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where you can experience the vibrant atmosphere with storytellers, juice vendors, and the impressive Koutoubia Mosque. In the afternoon, we’ll take you to the Oasiria Waterpark, where you can cool off and enjoy some thrilling fun on the water slides!

Agafay Desert & Essaouira

On day three, the group will leave Marrakesh and embark on a scenic 3-hour drive, passing through the Agafay Desert and heading towards the coastal city of Essaouira. Be sure to keep an eye out for goats grazing in the trees along the way! Essaouira, a stunning city overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, boasts a historic Medina that was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2001. In the afternoon, you’ll have time to unwind on Essaouira's beautiful beach, before exploring the charming city, soaking in its cafes, shops, and remarkable architecture.

The next day, the group will head back to Essaouira beach for a full day of relaxation under the sun! It’s the perfect opportunity to unwind, enjoy the sea breeze, and have fun playing games on the beach.

Camel Trekking & Camping

The group will embark on a camel trek through the sand dunes, passing by small farms and fishing huts, as you make your way to the campsite for the night. To escape the summer heat, you’ll camp near the coast, on the edge of the Sahara. As evening falls, the cooks will prepare a delicious traditional Moroccan meal – a fantastic chance to learn about the country’s rich culinary heritage! After dinner, the group will gather around a campfire, enjoying a night of wild camping under the stars.

Sandboarding, surfing & crocodiles!

Wake up early to watch the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, a truly unforgettable experience. Afterward, we’ll head to our sandboarding spot, where you can try your hand at riding the steep dunes – see if you can stand up on the board! Next, the group will travel to the coastal town of Tamraght, where you'll enjoy private surf sessions at a surf camp. All equipment is provided, along with guidance from expert surf coaches. Afterward, we’ll visit the Crocoparc, where you’ll learn about Nile crocodiles and explore the beautiful botanical gardens. Finally, we’ll make our way to Taroudant, the former Berber capital of Morocco. The evening will be yours to relax at the hostel or explore the bustling souks of the city.

Atlas Studios 

After breakfast, we’ll drive through stunning landscapes towards Ouarzazate, nestled high in the Atlas Mountains. Known as the gateway to the Sahara Desert, this area is renowned for its breath-taking palaces and fortified cities. It’s also a popular film-making location, with iconic films and series like Gladiator and The Mummy having been shot here. The group will take a tour of the famous Atlas Studios film sets and even have the chance to create some videos of their own!

Ait ben haddou

The group will visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a stunning example of an ancient, fortified town. It’s also been featured in numerous films and series, including Game of Thrones.

After exploring the Kasbah, we’ll drive into the Atlas Mountains, where the temperature will drop as we gain altitude, reaching about 2,000 meters. As we arrive in the picturesque Ait Bougamez Valley, the group will reach the Travelteer Gite, ready to begin volunteering the following day.
