Overview
Education
The Education programme works in partnership with schools in Sa Pa and Yen Bai province, aiming to create sustainable opportunities for young people in rural communities through language learning and physical education. While many students have a basic understanding of English, their speaking, listening, and confidence in communication are often limited due to a lack of exposure to fluent speakers. This programme gives volunteers valuable, hands-on experience in international education, offering insight into classroom dynamics and childhood development in a rural Vietnamese context. Through both English lessons and sports activities, volunteers help build essential life skills, boost student confidence, and inspire a love for learning.
English Development
The English development initiative supports schools in Sa Pa and Yen Bai by helping students gain confidence and improve their spoken English. Volunteers assist in classroom lessons, run after-school English clubs, and help renovate classrooms to create more inspiring learning environments.
Sports Development
The Sports Development Project encourages physical activity and teamwork through PE lessons and sports clubs. Volunteers assist teachers, lead games, and help renovate school playing fields to create safe, engaging spaces that promote confidence and active lifestyles.
Sustainability
By improving education, language skills, and access to safe, engaging learning and play environments, these initiatives empower students and teachers with lasting skills and resources. The classroom and field renovations also promote sustainable development by creating durable, inspiring spaces that continue to benefit future generations.

Classroom Revamp
Overview
Travelteer has been given some of our own classrooms to teach in!
Some of these classrooms haven't been used in a long time, so firstly they will need a good clean! We then move on to helping re-paint and design educational imagery for the walls. You will be decorating walls, floors, desks and chairs – so make sure you bring some clothes you don’t mind getting paint on!
You will be involved in helping repaint everything from classrooms at local schools, to gates and swimming pools in community centres. This will be a group activity with all the English Development volunteers!
Project
Playfield Renovation
Overview
As a part of our Sports Development we help restore and develop sports facilities at Government schools and local playing fields. Work as a team to clear and rebuild their playing fields to make them usable again.
Many of the School pitches are in disrepair and our restoration projects bring so much joy to the children. It's an incredibly rewarding project and you will see just how far a bit of hard-work goes into making a real difference in the local community.

Our English development initiative supports schools in Sa Pa and Yen Bai, where students often lack regular exposure to spoken English. Volunteers assist with classroom lessons, helping improve confidence and conversational skills, and also run after-school English clubs to make learning more engaging. As part of the project, you’ll also help revamp classrooms, creating more inspiring spaces for students to learn and thrive.
